Utility Billing and Payment Policies
The following information is provided to help you understand the City’s water, sewer, and garbage billing and payment procedures. Please read the information carefully and don’t hesitate to ask our city staff for clarification if you have any questions.
The City of Gooding bills are mailed by the 1st of every month.
- The minimum billing for water is $15.97; this includes usage from 0 – 5,000 gallons. The billing increases at $.12 per 100 gallons used for all usage over 5,000 gallons and $20.00 per month for the Water Debt Fee.
- Minimum billing for sewer is $16.20 per month and $37.00 per month for the Sewer Debt Fee.
- Residential garbage is billed at $11.47 per month for a 95 gallon container and $34.39 for a 300 gallon can.
- Commercial garbage is billed at $42.41 per month for a 95 gallon container and $70.68 per month for a 300 gallon container and $84.81 for each 95/300 gallon container combination.
Requests for extra garbage containers for misc. cleanup will be charged a minimum fee of $34.39 for a 300 gallon can and $11.47 for a 95 gallon can.
Unfortunately, the city cannot accept responsibility for late or non-delivery of utility bills by the Post Office. If you have not received your bill by the 5th of the month, please contact our office at (208) 934-5669 to check your account status.
Utility bills are past due if not paid by 5:00 pm on the 20th day of the month, including when the 20th falls on a holiday or weekend. POSTMARKS ARE NOT ACCEPTED. No disconnect letters will be sent to remind you of a past due account.
City service will be disconnected on the 25th of every month. If the 25th falls on a weekend or a holiday disconnection will be the following business day. A $25.00 shut off-reconnect charge will be added to the delinquent amount due. The City of Gooding has a payment drop-box available located at 308 5th Ave West. Payments left in the City drop-box are collected at 7:30 am every morning, Monday – Thursday.
IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR LAST DAY UTILITY PAYMENTS: If you are making a payment on or near the deadline, we recommend you deliver your payment to the City Hall payment window and wait for a receipt. This is your proof that the payment was received by the City prior to the deadline. If you use your bill pay through your bank please keep in mind it may take up to 7-10 days for the City to receive the payment.
